CONSPIRACY THEORIES: DID WE LAND ON THE MOON?
Hi my dears!
I know it's been really busy for your these days. All those examinations! But cheer up guys! Everything will be over soon enough. Anyway, since in the past days we've been dealing with the topic of "Conspiracy theories" in class, I've decided to prepare an activity related to one of the most well known historical events in modern history which has been considered by many part of a conspiracy theory: the Moon landing on 21st July 1969. So here you have the links to a video from Youtube divided into three parts. It's called "Moon Landing Hoax - Conspiracy Theory". The task will consist of some exercises that you will have to do after listening to each part of the video. For now, have a look at this interesting and surprising video:

Halloween is coming!!! It's a
special time for both British and Americans. On the night of the 31st October,
children all around the world, mainly in the UK and the USA, wear spooky
costumes and knock on their neighbours' houses to ask for sweets while they
shout "trick or treat". It's a very ancient custom whose origins go
back to Celtic times. It's a time for listening to frightening stories about ghosts,
witches, vampires and all kind of freaky monsters. There are very good films
you could see at this time of the year, if you are daring enough!! The world of
cinema is full of horror stories but I've found others which combine horror
with tenderness and love. Don't lose films such as "Corpse Bride" (La
Novia Cadáver) by Tim Burton or "Coraline" (Los Mundos de Coraline)
by Henry Selick. You'll have a nice surprise!! But, above all, I'd like to
recommend you a film from 1993 which I consider a masterpiece: "HOCUS
POCUS". It's a surprising story taking place during Halloween which mixes
horror, magic, friendship, love and lots of fun. And don't miss the fancy dress
party scene ! You'll love the witches singing "I put a spell on you"!!

Importance of ICT
Nowadays, the use of ICT in the foreign
language class is not an option but a necessity. Blogs, among other tools can
be the perfect way for students to get acquainted with the use of the new technologies
to learn a foreign language. We cannot deny that nowadays students are used to
this kind of multimedia resources and the traditional methodology is no longer
so successful when teaching a language. We have to provide students with interesting
and motivating material that may encourage them to learn a foreign language in
a funny way. Blogs are an easy and accessible means of including them in their
learning process and making them aware of their own improvement in the foreign
language.

Welcome aboard again!
Welcome to this blog!
It's time to start a new school year full of mixed feelings and excitement. The aim of this project is to help my students of 1º Bachillerato at the IES Vecindario to enhance their skills in English. I hope we can use this blog to share interesting information while we have fun discovering other ways of improving our knowledge of the English language!!
To get started, let's begin with a very famous film. Yes, Bella, the Cullens and their mortal enemies, the Vulturis are back! Finally, the Twilight saga gets to its end, so don't miss this trailer of "Breaking Dawn Part 2". On 16th November you'll have the opportunity to watch the final part of this amazing story.
